About The Position

G+D is currently seeking a Punch Machine Operator to support our high-volume production environment in Bolingbrook Illinois on 3rd shift working Monday - Friday 9:30pm - 5:30am. In this role, the Punch Machine Operator will be responsible for preparing, loading, operating, and maintaining punch equipment to ensure product quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precision hand movements.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
  • Visual acuity correctable to 20/20; normal color vision required.
  • Able to reason through mechanical setup and operational issues independently.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, and stooping.
  • Regular lifting of 15 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for computer and machine operation.
  • Consistent attendance, including required overtime, is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor punch production machines according to defined specifications.
  • Load and unload materials and stock in the correct sequence for production.
  • Read and interpret job specifications and prior run data to set machine parameters accurately.
  • Perform routine inspections to verify machine safety guards and proper setup.
  • Ensure quality standards are met by verifying material conformance using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation and production data records.
  • Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality concerns.
  • Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly.
  • Support a safe and clean work environment by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies within the department.
  • Perform PCI-compliant card counting and handling.
  • Adhere to daily production targets for line speed, scrap rates, and setup times.
