About The Position

G+D is currently seeking a Punch Machine Operator to support our high-volume production environment in Bolingbrook Illinois on 3rd shift working Monday - Friday 9:30pm - 5:30am. In this role, the Punch Machine Operator will be responsible for preparing, loading, operating, and maintaining punch equipment to ensure product quality and efficiency.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 6 months of experience operating production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precision hand movements.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods.
Visual acuity correctable to 20/20; normal color vision required.
Able to reason through mechanical setup and operational issues independently.
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting, and stooping.
Regular lifting of 15 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
Manual dexterity for computer and machine operation.
Consistent attendance, including required overtime, is essential.

Responsibilities

Operate and monitor punch production machines according to defined specifications.
Load and unload materials and stock in the correct sequence for production.
Read and interpret job specifications and prior run data to set machine parameters accurately.
Perform routine inspections to verify machine safety guards and proper setup.
Ensure quality standards are met by verifying material conformance using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
Accurately complete all required documentation and production data records.
Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance team to resolve quality concerns.
Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Support a safe and clean work environment by following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and lockout/tagout procedures.
Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain inventory and supplies within the department.
Perform PCI-compliant card counting and handling.
Adhere to daily production targets for line speed, scrap rates, and setup times.
