The Machine Operator I is an entry-level position responsible for supporting daily production by operating and monitoring manufacturing equipment under close supervision. This role assists in loading programs, preparing machines, and performing basic maintenance tasks to ensure consistent and efficient operation. The position contributes to AAON’s production goals by maintaining quality standards, minimizing downtime, and following established safety procedures. Attention to detail and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: • Load production files and prepare machines for operation according to instructions. • Assist in setting up and adjusting equipment for daily production runs. • Monitor machine performance and report any issues or irregularities to supervisors. • Perform basic visual inspections to ensure product quality and consistency. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment. • Replenish materials and consumables needed for machine operation. • Work collaboratively with other operators and team members to meet production targets. • Follow all safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment. • Document basic production data and support continuous improvement efforts. • Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Mental and Physical Functions: This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing setting. • Ability to lift and move objects up to 30 lbs. • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and repetitive motion throughout the shift • Use of fine motor skills and visual acuity for inspecting components and operating machinery • Ability to operate a computer, mouse, and basic input devices • Must be able to respond to visual and auditory machine indicators Work Environment: Machine Operator I roles are performed in a production facility where safety, cleanliness, and efficiency are prioritized. • Work is performed indoors in a manufacturing setting • Exposure to loud noise, dust, and chemical fumes • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, masks, gloves, and steel-toed boots • This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role and is subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing • Compliance with all company safety and operational policies is mandatory Disclaimer: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
