Responsible for the safe set up and operation of production machine(s) in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude to operate and maintain machinery effectively
  • Possess basic arithmetic and computer skills
  • Comfortable using hand tooling and basic measuring equipment, tolerances are key
  • Understand oral and written instructions with ability to learn quickly, meet deadlines, and maintain equipment
  • Communication and people skills; team player willing to learn.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (i.e., ability to wear required PPE, work in a dusty, hot, non-climate-controlled environment; with stairs, frequent walking, standing and occasional lifting of material).
  • Ability to work off shift hours in support of plant initiatives.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in core production roles within 90 days of hire.
  • High school diploma or GED (Required)

  • Knowledge of G-Code (May be required based on position)
  • Available to work 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:30pm)
  • CalOSHA 10 (preferred)
  • OSHA Forklift Certification (preferred)
  • CPR & First Aid Certification (preferred)
  • Some machine positions may require additional certification or a technical training program.

Responsibilities

  • Clocks to and perform transactions in Shop-Trak; providing updates status on projects, material moves, and scrap for all operations
  • Load, unload, receive, and store raw materials and supplies
  • Prepare machines to start a production cycle٫ performing calibration٫ cleaning and other activities efficiently IAW quality standards and established safety procedures
  • Use computer aided manufacturing programs to monitors, controls, and adjusts machine settings while operating machinery and/or equipment, according to specifications.
  • Perform periodic checks on machinery and/or equipment and solve problems as detected, trouble shoot issues that occur during shift, and m aintain operator logs
  • Completes work as required to meet production and schedule requirements
  • Performs minor repairs and routine preventative maintenance on machines to including cleaning scrap trays and filters.
  • Assist peers and/or cross train on other machines/equipment as needed.
  • Works with peers to Identify product defects and report necessary nonconformances to Supervisor, and/or Quality Inspector
  • Works with peers to coordinate movement parts and/or products to the next step operation
  • Follows safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment as required
  • Maintains equipment and work areas; cleans and performs basic repairs as needed.
