Machine Operator I: Downstream Operator Salary Grade: Hourly Basic Function: Safely and effectively operate downstream equipment (including boxmakers, palletizers, robots and any other related machinery) in accordance with production requirements. The Operator will ensure efficient and effective operation of machinery in the area for a high quality finished product. Troubleshoot problems and clear jams to maintain operational efficiency and quality. Communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers to maintain production flow and respond to changes in production schedule. Essential Function and Responsibilities: Maintain a safe and clean work area in accordance with Company standards. Follow all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) as documented in the policy. Follow all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook, and as stated in the various safety-related training programs. Understand and communicate all hazards and safety issues to the appropriate personnel. Properly use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Operating walk reach truck safely and according to standard. – Add Operate cartonized equipment, including but not limited to: Load knockdown boxes and dividers into magazine of boxmaker. Learn and operate robot, casepacking cells, casecreaser, and related equipment. Count and record corrugated scrap. Work with team to reduce scrap and resolve HFI issues as necessary. Use computer system program for production needs, including but not limited to printing production schedule, producing scrap tickets and finished good tickets. Perform hourly quality checks on containers and cartons. Confirm and document cartons as they are brought to the line. Work with appropriate resources to contain defects. Bottle inspections are to take place after packaging. Quarantine and escalate issues or defects as they arise. Operate Seetech, including but not limited to: Operate Seetech robot stacking cells Complete hourly quality checks on containers, cartons, and palletizing patterns. Confirm and document per quality expectations. – Add and talk to Max Work with appropriate resources to contain defects. Quarantine and escalate issues or defects as they arise. Communicate with line driver at product changes. Perform changeovers on equipment per production schedule Operate MSK and tumble pack station, including but not limited to: Operate walk reach truck to load raw materials. Perform changeovers on MSK palletizer per production schedule Complete hourly quality checks on containers and palletizing patterns and materials. Confirm and document per quality expectations Work with appropriate resources to contain defects. Quarantine and escalate issues or defects as they arise. Communicate with line driver at product changes. Confirm tumble pack counts and materials hourly. Set up containers for tumble-pack stations (including appropriate ticketing) and monitor tumble-pack stations as required. Operate bulk palletizer, including but not limited to: Perform changeovers on bulk palletizing equipment per production schedule. Complete hourly quality checks on containers, palletizing patterns, and materials. Confirm and document per quality expectations. Work with appropriate resources to contain defects. Quarantine and escalate issues or defects as they arise. Communicate with line driver at product changes. Operate strapping equipment. Follow cleaning schedule per standard. Proactively call for raw materials in a timely manner and coordinate to avoid unnecessary downtime. For all, Set up and make adjustments to machine as required to accommodate product changes. (double check if already in sections) For all, Troubleshoot problems as they arise. Communicate machinery and equipment problems to supervisor and/or maintenance personnel accurately and in a timely manner. For all, Complete preventive maintenance assignments and enter work orders in FMS as appropriate on downstream machinery as directed. For immediate issues, work directly with Frontline Leaders. For all areas within Downstream, communicate changes in the production schedule to coworkers (e.g. countdown and color changes). troubleshoot problems as appropriate. (For all – ensure troubleshooting included) Utilize Downstream Levels Program training documentation to attain skills needed to increase technical skill over time, and to complete cross training to at least 3 of five sets of equipment. May perform other related assignments at the direction of supervision. Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the shift Production Supervisor.
