About The Position

Altium Packaging is one of the largest plastic container companies and suppliers of rigid plastic packaging, specializing in customized mid- and short-run packaging solutions. They serve a diverse customer base in the pharmaceutical, dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments. The company is seeking an experienced Machine Operator in Arden, NC. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating blow mold, grinder, and trimmer machines, as well as the conveyor system. The role also involves troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure the continuous operation of the production line. Collaboration with co-workers is essential to ensure smooth procedures and maximize efficiency and profits.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years’ experience as a machine operator
Blow mold operation experience
Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills are required
Machine maintenance experience
Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
Ability to work overtime
Physical stamina and strength/able to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle
Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)
Operate blow-mold machines (including wheels, reciprocator or shuttle machines)
Perform audits, weights and quality checks
Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
Enter data into SPC database for quality control measures
Troubleshoot, preventative maintenance, minor repair on blow mold & support equipment
Repair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines
Maintain activity logs
