About The Position

Bindery Operator 2 (Trimmer) Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Bindery Operator 2 to oversee the set up and operation of the inline book trimmer, and troubleshoot equipment issues to meet production deadlines.

Requirements

• Experience: Typically 1-2+ years in bindery operations, with experience in projects or leadership.
• Technical Knowledge: Expertise in bindery equipment setup, procedures, capabilities, and limitations, including knowledge of paper types.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills for making complex machine adjustments.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Communication: Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds (occasionally 75), and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Equipment Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate bindery machines such as trimmers.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve complex operating and mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, and minimize downtime.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor production, ensure quality control, and conduct final inspections.
• Leadership & Training: Assist in crew activities, train junior operators, and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Workflow Management: Interpret job orders, plan operations, and coordinate with other departments to meet schedules.
• Documentation & Safety: Document production data, maintain records, and follow safety protocols.
