ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ? Apply all safety practices and general safety rules while performing daily tasks. ? Assist the Machine Operator in the set ups, changeovers of machine. Involving the removal and replacement of tooling rolls, cut off dies, punch dies, table spacers, die springs, excess materials left behind, die blades, shims, spacers, embossing stamps, unipunches. ? Safely operate the wood chop saws or wood radial arm saws to cut wood blocks to custom lengths. ? Operate Jib crane to maneuver slit coils onto the machine uncoilers. ? Safely operate the metal cut off saws to cut up scrap or cut materials into custom lengths when needed. ? Safely remove all scrap from machine and place it in designated scrap bins. ? Remove punch out bins from presses to designated area. ? Follow daily housekeeping: sweep the perimeter of the machine and/or work area. Pick up all strapping, trash, debris, etc., around the machine’s perimeter and work benches surfaces. Wipe down all painted surfaces on machine. ? Daily maintenance of machines and equipment; oiling, greasing, adding water, cleaning, blowing, spraying, adjusting, etc. ? Apply company standards to be an effective Machine Operator Assistant. Such as color codes and decimal reading for gauge identification, product package standards, basic visual and measurable quality control standards. Basic inventory control standards. ? Safely stack product as it exits machine by company pallets standard. ? Apply all the necessary packaging requirements: writing pallet description on exterior of pallets, apply the necessary pallet stickers, spray paint gauge colors on pallet edges, safely operate banding machines to secure strapping and wood blocks to pallets. ? Effectively read a tape measure and apply to the following: measure all products lengths, widths, heights, etc., for quality control purposes. Measure slit coils widths, ID, OD, for proper identification for weight calculations. Measure tooling roll spacers, knives, etc. for setups/ changeovers assistance. ? Maintain the necessary production supplies needed at the machine or workstation, as to not run out and cause possible inefficiencies. ? Work on the inline welding process, including spinning the uncoiler turn-stile for coil strip alignment, shearing off strip ends for squareness, clamping strips in position for welding, selecting proper ranges for weld qualities. ? Work at assigned workstations. Requiring the use of hand tools, screw guns, paint rollers, shop vacuums, razor knives, hammer, pressurized air, carts, dollies, brooms, mops rags, spray bottles, etc. ? Regular attendance, punctuality and ability to work overtime as needed. ? Other projects may be assigned as needed.
