Machine Operators operate, set up, program, maintain, and troubleshoot presses, mills, and auto-forming machines in a fast-paced environment. Fisher Barton values our 3C’s Culture, working every day to execute Customer Excellence, A Culture of Fairness, and Community Involvement.   At Level 1, You will: Adhere to Fisher Barton Safety and Quality procedures and regulations and business code of ethics Lift and load parts Insert blanks manually into press and perform either hot or cold form operations Measure parts Keep an accurate record of the quantity milled and formed Inspect finished parts for Quality and Compliance Package customer parts  Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of working areas Set up for all equipment in required time, per the control plan specifications Verify dimensions, type and characteristics of Raw Materials Load Coil, Strip or Blanks Set tension on Slack Loop Adjust and operate forming press/straightener to produce parts in accordance with specifications Set up milling machine Perform manual mill operations Replace milling heads Remove and isolate Scrapped/Non-Conforming Parts Perform operator maintenance (change out lubricants) and housekeeping of working areas Maintain safe working conditions in area of influence, document and correct acts or conditions. Set, align, and secure dies Set up ram strokes Set up required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors Program required sensing, support equipment and instruments for feeders, lubrication, air, part ejection and sensors Adjust/Set Counterbalance Troubleshoot machine issues, diagnose symptoms, isolate the root cause, and present solutions Participate on 8D/Root Cause/Problem Solving Teams Assist with the inspection of die (when required) upon completion of job Account for steel usage (as required) and accurately record piecework formed Write and update work instructions Provide or direct team member training   The above statements are intended only to describe the general nature of the job and should not be construed as an all-inclusive list of position responsibilities. Requirements

  • 3 Year Machine Operating experience or successful performance as a Fisher Barton Machine Operator 3 team member
  • Proficient in all Machine Operator 3 skills, as defined on the site Training Matrix
  • Able to set up and troubleshoot presses, mills and auto-forming machines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience training fellow team members
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven ability to safely operate various manufacturing production machines

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5+ years of Machine Operating experience
  • Tool and die experience
  • Experience using Epicor

Responsibilities
