About The Position

Nucor Insulated Panel Group - Shelbyville, IN, a Nucor Company division, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Machine Operator- 2nd Shift. The incumbent will perform startup, changeover and shutdown procedures for the assigned production line area and will be tasked with milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations, as well as inspections. Teammates must be able to perform quality checks and instruct/lead line personnel to facilitate optimal performance. The identified candidate will perform basic preventative maintenance duties; report any malfunctions or abnormalities with equipment, complete reports, and answer inquiries. The incumbent must accurately record all material usage and reconcile that usage at the end of each shift by completing data entry using Excel spreadsheets. The Machine Operator will maintain the assigned production line area's cleanliness, comply with all company policies and procedures, and perform all other duties, as assigned. Requirements

  • Excellent attendance and safety record
  • Knowledge of basic machine functions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products, specifically Excel

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience in a production environment
  • Open communication
  • Understanding of machine setup and tear down.
  • Use of HMIs
  • Overhead crane experience
  • Basic understanding of automation
  • Machine and process troubleshooting

Responsibilities
