Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? The East Hartford Repair Operations (EHRO-AMO) is looking for a hardworking and high-energy 2nd shift Machine Tool Service Supervisor (M3). In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of skilled traders, general maintenance employees or outside contractors who construct, maintain, and repair equipment in the manufacturing shop. Typical working hours are 12:00PM – 9:00PM, Monday – Friday. Training is available and may be required on our first shift for up to 6 months.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Facilities Maintenance, Engineering, Military, Manufacturing, or Industrial Project Management; OR Bachelor’s degree or Technical School and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree and 7+ years of relevant industry experience; OR high school diploma and 9+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 1+ year of supervisory or management experience
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company’s immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree STEM fields or Technical School preferred.
  • Personnel management experience, ideally in a highly technical environment, leading both hourly and salary team-members; bargaining unit / union workforce experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with and effectively communicate with all levels of employees in the organization, Mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain machine tools
  • Lean manufacturing experience, and/or CORE, ACE, Six-Sigma training.
  • Ability to encourage teamwork, participation, and individual accountability.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Solumina, SAP, or similar MRP/ERP/CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Set day-to-day goals and objectives for team members.
  • Oversee planning, organizing, and scheduling maintenance for the shop.
  • Analyze machinery casualties / failure analysis to determine proper repair procedures and equipment upgrades.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is adequate for all machinery and recommend maintenance changes as needed.
  • Partner with environmental health and safety department to correct and mitigate EH&S machine repair concerns.
  • Manage payroll in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up to date training for all hourly employees.
  • Craft work schedules to assure EHRO MTS plan is integrated with internal and external facility services providers.
  • Coordinate Manufacturing Cell transformations by moving existing equipment and installing newly acquired capital equipment.
  • Generate purchase orders prior to contractors starting approved work onsite, create pre-job reports to ensure clear communication of work is provided to approved contractors.
  • Build and initiate Pre-job reports for approved contractors planned to work onsite and post at each job site.
  • Use SAP to create Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to generate purchase order to ensure contractor has valid method of payment prior to starting contract work.
  • Attend and participate in restructuring meetings when invited.
