About The Position

Founded in 1922, Channell is a global designer, manufacturer, and seller of outside plant infrastructure equipment for markets such as Telecommunications, Municipalities, Internet Service Providers, Wireless, Water, Power, and CATV. Their product lines include thermoplastic and metal fabricated enclosures, fiber optic cable connection and management systems, and high-performance below-grade vaults. The Machine Cleaner position is responsible for ensuring that manufacturing equipment is maintained at the highest level, managing cleaning supplies and equipment, and adhering to company policies and safety rules on any assigned shift.

Requirements

• Good understanding of quality and safety practices
• Must understand and follow all departmental safety rules
• Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
• ISO sections pertaining to the position
• Some janitorial/custodial experience
• Ability to read and write in English
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours per day
• Must be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Must be able to work in both hot and cold environments
• Work outside normal business hours/days as needed

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain production work areas and remove debris/refuse
• Mop and sweep floors, including operation of powered floor scrubber/sweeper
• Maintain cleanliness of production areas
• Maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and request new supplies as needed
• Prepare documentation as needed regarding work and maintenance performed
• Report all equipment failures to immediate supervisor
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
• Complete other job-related duties and special projects assigned by Supervisor
