MA Team Lead
About The Position
The Medical Assistant Team Lead functions within the care team by assuming oversight for the clinic session, assisting the medical providers, MAs and patients. The Medical Assistant Team Lead serves as a peer trainer for Medical Assistants, supports completion of all work assignments for MA I and MA II staff, and assists the care team to accomplish all tasks to balance work flow during a clinical shift. The Medical Assistant Team Lead demonstrates C.A.R.E. principals in working with patients and the care team. The Team Lead participates in cross discipline or cross site projects to advance the strategic plan. Pay Range: $28.68- $34.22 DOE
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from and accredited medical assisting program. Participation in Fred Pryor training as assigned or recommended.
- Experience: A minimum of 12 months prior medical assisting experience at SRCH
- Knowledge and Skills: Fluent in English and one other needed patient access language required (speak, read and write).
- Excellent performance in the MA I or MA II position.
- Demonstrated peer leadership skills preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of eCW and the MA workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to complete assignments.
- Thorough, detail oriented, careful and accurate.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities to improve systems and work flow.
- History of taking initiative and willingness to accept additional assignments to assist in workflow or improve systems.
- Demonstrates knowledge of compliance issues within the community clinic environment.
- Demonstrates a willingness to report any incident that is unusual or incompatible with accepted clinic procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times.
- Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
- Demonstrated coursework with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel to increase proficiency.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to track ongoing projects, assist others with work relatively independently during a clinic shift, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities
- Performs all duties of an MA I or MA II plus two of the following
- Order medical supplies OR
- Coordinate clinic flow for a team of clinicians
- Maximize use of resources, including but not limited to rooms, supplies, equipment, MA tasks
- Direct the flow of the clinic, including communicating regarding early, late, walk-in patients
- Use a variety of methods to improve access by helping clinicians meet their visit volume targets
- Support the training of MAs
- Train new MAs, either individually or in a small group
- MA Competency check-offs
- Informal mentor for paths to success with completing job duties within Medical Assistant category
- As trained, participate in the assigning or monitoring completion of duties within job category for team MAs
- Other duties as assigned
