MA/Surgery Scheduler
About The Position
The START Center is expanding and seeks an MA/Surgery Scheduler to join its team, which is dedicated to providing premier cancer care through leading doctors, advanced diagnostics, and cutting-edge therapies. This role involves scheduling patients for various medical procedures including surgery, diagnostic tests, referrals, and pre-operative clearances. The position also requires reviewing patient medications and health history to facilitate pre-admission testing and coordinating ancillary services with facilities. Requirements
- Knowledge in operating a computer and computer software (i.e: Microsoft office, EHR)
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology.
Nice To Haves
- One year of prior surgery scheduling experience and in a health care facility setting.
- Certified Medical Assistant
Responsibilities
- Scheduling patients for surgery, completing facility paperwork.
- Scheduling patients for diagnostic tests (i.e bone scan, MRI, CT, EMG/NCS, ESI).
- Reviewing patients meds and health history to determine pre-admission testing.
- Scheduling appropriate medical and cardiac testing.
- Coordinates with the facility all ancillary services related to the surgery at the discretion of the surgeon.
- Scheduling patient for follow-up appointments.
- Obtain authorizations as needed.
