The Saint Alphonsus Medical Group is now hiring for a Lead Medical Assistant for the Clinical Float Team! Position Summary & Highlights: The MA Lead for the Clinical Float Team will assist the Float Pool Manager with coordination of all clinical float staff and acts as liaison between, float staff and physicians, clinic managers and SAMG administrators. This position provides clinical leadership and support throughout the network.

Requirements

  • Recent minimum 2 years Medical Assisting experience required.
  • Leadership, supervisory or equivalent experience required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Currently credentialed as an MA by one of the Trinity approved organizations listed below, required at time of hire:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
  • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
  • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
  • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
  • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Enjoy training and mentoring others; Is approachable, a good listener, and has strong communication/crucial conversation skills.
  • Have strong organizational skills and experience with scheduling work schedules for others is preferred.
  • Experience working as a float for Saint Alphonsus or other organizations is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination the day-to-day clinical float pool operations, to support SAMG clinic staffing needs.
  • Provide clinical leadership and assists with crisis management as indicated.
  • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and orientating of clinical staff.
  • Assist the Float Pool Manager with the following:
  • Mentoring and disciplining clinical staff as appropriate to their professional licensure or certification.
  • Supporting staff education and development.
  • Identifying methods of improving patient care.
  • Regulatory compliance, education, and readiness.
  • Instructing policies and procedures with clinical functions.
  • Staffing schedules for float pool clinical staff.
  • Competency and evaluation completion as indicated by their licensure or certification.
  • Actively participate or facilitate network process improvement projects.
  • Assist the Float pool manager with Joint Commission, OSHA, CLIA safety standards as well as any other local, state or federal regulations.
  • Provide medical assisting care to an assigned patient population under the direction of a provider, RN, or LPN as needed.
