About The Position

A top client is modernizing its Microsoft 365 ecosystem by moving to a multi‑tenant, DBA‑aligned architecture to improve performance, modern collaboration, and regulatory isolation. This role provides hands‑on architectural leadership to validate, design, and guide implementation of the new multi‑tenant M365 model covering Exchange Online, Identity, and Collaboration workloads. Key Objectives Validate the current M365 and identity stack for a large‑scale, multi‑tenant future state. Assess and refine the DBA‑aligned multi‑tenant model, including email routing, domains, identity, and collaboration impacts. Identify architectural risks, constraints, compliance considerations, and long-term evolution paths. Evaluate implications for Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and future Copilot enablement.

Requirements

  • Deep architecture experience with Exchange Online, hybrid deployments, and large migrations.
  • Strong Entra ID (Azure AD) identity design knowledge.
  • Expertise in multi‑tenant M365, domains/DNS, federation, email routing.
  • Experience with M365 Lighthouse and automation (PowerShell, Graph API).
  • Delivered migrations of 25k–100k+ users in regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with Quest ODM, BitTitan, and Microsoft native tooling.
  • Understanding of regulatory isolation, DLP, sensitivity labels, transport rules, audit & monitoring models.
  • Excellent communicator able to present complex architecture to executives.
  • Strong cross‑functional leadership across IAM, Security, Ops, and PMO.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural documentation for Exchange Online multi‑tenant patterns, domain/DNS scaling, identity strategy, and cross‑tenant collaboration/isolation.
  • Lead deep‑dives with Microsoft and technical partners.
  • Provide architectural input for executive decision materials (feasibility, risks, trade-offs).
  • Participate in leadership sessions to clarify architectural direction.
  • Review vendor deliverables for accuracy and alignment.
  • Ensure consistency across IAM, Security, Operations, and Compliance.
  • Define non‑functional requirements (security, scale, monitoring, operations).
  • Validate migration patterns, throughput, and automation needs.
  • Guide cross‑tenant identity/mailbox cutovers, multi-practice users, office isolation, and DNS automation at scale.
  • Produce ADRs, validations, and design redlines.
