About The Position

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a M&P Specialist A220 to join our Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL. The material and processes (M&P) Specialist position will be responsible for evaluating, trouble-shooting, providing support to liaison in providing dispositions. This position requires attention to detail, self-motivated, great attitude and team player as well as using good judgement and making sound decisions while under pressure and close deadlines regarding dispositions to support production. As customer interface is possible, professional appearance and communication skills are required. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, chemistry or 2 years aviation experience.
  • 3 years of engineering experience dealing with manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in drawing reviews and approvals.
  • You have working experience with MS Office and good ability to quickly learn new tools.
  • You have good oral and written skills in English; and a minimum knowledge of French.
  • You are familiar with engineering design specifications.
  • You are knowledgeable in manufacturing processes.
  • Travel Required: 1 month training in Montreal.
  • You are an energetic person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high sense of commitment, and a willingness to accept responsibilities while acting independently in a high-pressure partner/supplier team environment.
  • Involved communication on a regular basis with internal and external parties.
  • Vision: Adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to observe manufacturing operations including equipment as well as individual tasks.
  • Hearing: Able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings and on the production floor and flight line. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.
  • Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.
  • Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment as well as production-related tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and power drills, etc.
  • Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 50lbs/22kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues or as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lifting: Able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs/22kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Able to push/pull items on production and in office areas.
  • Sitting: Able to sit for extended periods of time at the computer, in meetings and observing production processes.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: Able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: Able to stand for extended periods of time, often on concrete floors observing production operations or delivering information.
  • Travel: Able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time, at short notice.
  • Walking: Able to walk through office and production areas, around flightline and airstrips and sometimes on uneven indoor and/or outdoor surfaces.

  • Experience in CATIA and Enovia.

Responsibilities

  • Support: 80%
  • Analyse current configuration and provide a solution to liaison that supports certification.
  • Understand current manufacturing processes and determine if other practices can be used.
  • Proficient in understanding current manufacturing (ASPS) processes.
  • Take part in liaison MFT providing M&P information to support the decision making for liaison dispositions.
  • Review dispositions for accuracy.
  • Take part of M&P community: 20%
  • Take part in daily meetings.
  • Support when required in reviewing drawing for release providing M&P direction.
  • Create or review process documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.
