About the Role M&A Extended Workforce Playbook Development (Risk & Compliance) We are seeking an experienced consultant to support one of our clients, a leading global technology company, in the development of a scalable M&A playbook for the Extended Workforce Solutions (xWS) Risk & Compliance team. As our client's M&A strategy evolves, the organization requires structured frameworks to manage contingent workforce risks while maintaining compliance and operational scalability. This is a niche intersection of M&A advisory and contingent workforce compliance. This engagement will codify internal expertise and establish standardized processes to guide future M&A transactions involving extended workforces. Engagement Objective The primary objective of this engagement is to develop a comprehensive, scalable playbook that enables the xWS Risk & Compliance team to effectively manage contingent workforce strategy across complex M&A transactions. The resulting framework will serve as a repeatable model for future deals, ensuring consistent risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Playbook Development
Develop a comprehensive M&A playbook covering contingent workforce strategy across multiple deal types
Create frameworks and operating procedures for:
Traditional M&A integrations
Acquihire transactions
Delayed integration models
Document standardized workflows, decision trees, and governance models
Risk & Compliance Strategy
Identify and address key contingent workforce risks associated with M&A transactions
Develop guidance to mitigate risks related to:
Worker misclassification
Co-employment exposure
Third-party labor compliance
Establish escalation pathways and risk management frameworks
Tooling & Automation Strategy
Define a scalable tooling strategy for contingent workforce risk assessment
Recommend automation opportunities to streamline compliance and due diligence processes
Evaluate third-party risk management tools and system integrations
Operational Framework
Translate existing internal expertise into scalable processes and documentation
Establish governance models and stakeholder engagement frameworks
Ensure playbooks are practical, repeatable, and aligned with enterprise M&A processes
