About The Position

We're looking for an Administrative Intern in the Livermore Valley Open Campus (LVOC). The internship will take place during the summer of 2026, with the possibility of extending throughout the year. The selected intern will gain hands-on experience in a variety of administrative tasks while contributing to the efficiency and success of our daily operations. This internship will provide valuable exposure to the LVOC and allow you to develop solid experience in a visitor and outreach-centric environment, guest communication, and daily event and activity coordination . Position will be closed to applicants on April 24. This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work. You will Have constant interaction with facility users and visitors, providing them with a positive experience while in the LVOC and at LLNL’s Discovery Center. Visitors and managers range in age, background, ability, and level both internally and externally to the Laboratory and include DOE, NNSA, and potential collaborators, as well as the public. Provide access to incoming visitors after confirming appropriate documentation and purpose, following all safety, security, and other policies. Provide activity and event support, ensuring logistical details are managed effectively. Collaborate with administrative staff on various assignments and activities, providing support as needed. Represent the administrative staff in daily matters by gathering, clarifying, and disseminating information. Perform a range of administrative tasks that may include data entry, scheduling, and document preparation, demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). See Additional Information section below for details.
  • Due to Export Controls, work must be performed by a U.S. person (e.g., US citizen or permanent resident and certain others).
  • Currently enrolled as a college or university student in good standing at an accredited institution, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Education, or a related field.
  • Ability to plan, analyze, and execute tasks effectively.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute positively to group dynamics.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.

  • Experience working with individuals of all ages.
  • Experience using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
