This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are seeking skilled Avionics Technicians who will leverage their technical expertise and leadership to ensure safe and efficient human spaceflight. This role involves setting up production areas, operating precision tools, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to support our mission of safe space exploration. Placement will align with your expertise and with our highest-impact technical requirements in areas such as production support, integration and test, and hardware assembly. This is a pooling requisition for current and anticipated openings across multiple Lunar teams and shifts. Candidates will be matched to the right roles as needs are identified. Position Specific Details: Shifts: A | Mon-Fri (6am-2:30pm), B | Mon-Fri (2pm-10:30pm), C | Fri-Sun (6am-6:30pm), D | Fri-Sun (6pm-6:30am) Location: Space Coast, FL Relocation: Available Potential travel: Up to 10% for training and related activities (where applicable)

Requirements

  • Relevant Manufacturing & Avionics Technician experience: (0-3 years Level I Technician , 3+ years Level II Technician , 5+ years Level III Technician , 8+ years Level IV Technician )
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Experience with precision calibration tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, and optical measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and comfortable working at heights (work stands, ladders, lifts) and/or in confined spaces.
  • Expertise in various applications, including adhesives, sealants, and thermal blankets.
  • Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work required shift and site, with flexibility for extended shifts/overtime as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in IPC/WHMA-A-620 Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies
  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field.
  • Experience with space flight hardware assembly
  • Can test/ install sensors (accelerometers, thermocouples, pressure sensors, strain gages, microphones, resistance temperature devices and cameras)
  • Bonding, sealing, part marking parts
  • Connector rework
  • Mate/ demate of harnesses
  • Cable routing
  • 3D Model experience
  • Knowledge of precision assembly processes and handling large aerospace components.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills with keen attention to detail, essential for leading teams in complex integration tasks.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in varied teams to foster a positive work environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity for optimizing processes, driving innovation.
  • Experience working on aerospace payloads, fairings, capsules.
  • z Experience with large out-of-autoclave curing and production control systems.
  • ATF Certification for handling and/or installing explosives.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification.

Responsibilities

  • Configure new production work areas with the necessary tooling and equipment to ensure efficient workflow and minimize any potential delays during the transition to high-rate manufacturing.
  • Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.) and precision calibrated tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, etc.) to maintain high safety and quality standards.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
  • Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles to promote safety and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and test payload systems and hardware by applying materials, conducting painting, sealing, composite layup, repairs, testing, and assisting with vehicle assembly and installation.
