About The Position

Lumen Christi Housekeeping - Kitchen Worker # HOURS PER WEEK: 25-29 hours WEEKLY SCHEDULE : Schedule may vary from week to week depending on retreat schedules and bookings. Flexibility is required, including availability for weekends and evenings as needed. WEEKEND WORK: Must be able to work weekends during retreats. POSITION SUMMARY: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: (Other duties may be assigned) Housekeeping responsibilities (General Public Areas as needed or requested by supervisor): Clean public bathrooms, offices, water fountains, corridor glass Vacuum and dust entire building and window ledges Empty garbage cans Straighten and clean all storage closets as needed (this includes laundry rooms, linen closet, air conditioning closets, chapel closets, etc.) Make a list of supplies needed Wings and Bedrooms: Strip, sort, and wash linens, towels, bathmats, etc. Clean and restock bathrooms which includes towels, soaps, cups, tissue paper, liner in trash can Dust bedrooms which include top of air-conditioners, desks, shelf in closet, windowsill, blinds and headboard Make beds according to schedules Fold blankets and place on shelf Vacuum rooms, check under beds and behind desks Clean glass door at end of wings (both inside and out) and sweep porches Kitchen Responsibilities: Assist with food service at both buildings as needed Assist with activities such as dining room and banquet operations and special medical diets, if needed Assist in preparation and serving meals during retreats as needed Give special attention to portion control (amount of food being prepared and amount of food being served) Report food quality and service complaints to administration Maintain all workstations for efficiency and cleanliness Have knowledge and use of all safety concerns and issues Cooking skills THIS POSITION SUPERVISES: N/A QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM THE JOB SUCCESSFULLY: Education and/or Experience: Other Skills Required: Housekeeping Skills : Good personality and able to work well with others Organizational skills needed Cleanliness at all times Report any maintenance concerns or items to Administration in writing (form provided) Physically able to perform the work An attitude of hospitality is required at all times no matter what situation arises Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Diocesan Safe Environment This job description is a summary of the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.
