About The Position

The Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and managing customer relationships for sawmill products, including Cuttings, commodities and low-grade lumber. This role works closely with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met, prices are competitive, and orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. The position supports business growth by identifying new sales opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing customers in wood products. Requirements

  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree in business, Forestry, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years sales experience in sawmill, forestry products, or wood manufacturing industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lumber grades, wood products, and sawmill operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel for customer visits and industry events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
  • Understand customer needs and specifications related to lumber grades, sizes, moisture content, and other product attributes that relate to where the customer fits in the distribution chain.
  • Promote sawmill products and services to maximize sales revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide product recommendations, pricing, and delivery schedules tailored to customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and shipping departments to manage stock levels and optimize order fulfillment.
  • Work with customers and management to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer contacts, and pipeline status using internal software.
