Requirements

  • Knowledgeable and can interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
  • Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, commissions, and percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Background and MVR Check Required

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance tasks such as oil and filter changes, tire balancing and rotation, and cooling system flushes as outlined on repair orders.
  • Sell lubrication services, safety inspections, and other related services; maintain records for regular customers and follow up as needed.
  • Inspect vehicle fluid levels and replenish as necessary.
  • Check and adjust tire pressure.
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain necessary parts.
  • Save and tag parts for warranty or customer requests.
  • Assess vehicles for additional safety or service needs.
  • Notify the service advisor if additional work is needed, if the outlined work is unnecessary, or if repairs cannot be completed on time.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on repair orders.
  • Conduct road tests to ensure vehicle functionality.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and stay updated on technical bulletins.
  • Report machinery defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Ensure vehicles are kept clean and notify the service advisor of any changes in vehicle condition .
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
  • Account for and return dealership-owned tools and manuals in good condition.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous waste disposal and safety procedures.
  • Operate tools and equipment safely and report any safety issues to management.
