About The Position

The selected summer intern will work with engineers, scientists, researchers, technical specialists, and other professionals at Savannah River National Laboratory. The candidates should be capable of developing, designing, fabricating, assembling, testing, evaluating, calibrating, and fielding systems, components, and tooling to meet unique technical challenges for end users. They are expected to deliver results in a safe, responsible, secure, timely, and cost-effective manner. Candidates need to understand and apply knowledge of standard engineering concepts, principles, techniques, and fundamentals to achieve innovative solutions. Internships typically run for a 10-week period, ideally beginning in May '26. Requirements

  • Have educational or research laboratory experience.
  • Think critically, analyze data, and integrate these skills into effective experimental design, execution, and reporting.
  • Develop partnerships with internal team members of different backgrounds.
  • Effectively communicate (verbal & written) technical results
  • Understand their own job and how the role interacts with their team.
  • Gain support for ideas within the team.
  • Work safely with particular attention to quality. Comply with all policies and standards.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
