About The Position

Administer Physical Therapy treatments to patients, working under the plan of care developed by the Physical Therapist. Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator and/or the Director of Rehab Services. Experience in outpatient is preferred. Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values.

Requirements

• No experience required, other than that acquired through the acquisition of the PTA degree and licensure.
• Licensed by the State of Alabama.
• Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred experience with adolescent and adult physical therapy in the areas of orthopedic and neurological injury.

Responsibilities

• Follow the Physical Therapy Plan of Care for each patient, as developed by the Physical Therapist.
• Utilize modalities, exercise, compensation, and other “hands-on” care to carry out the Physical Therapy Plan of Care for each patient.
• Provide clear verbal and written instruction to patients as indicated by the Plan of Care.
• Request additional evaluation and input from the Physical Therapist when a patient’s condition has changed or the method of therapy care does not present with significant improvement in a patient’s condition.
• Consistently work at a production pace.
• Readily adapt to frequent treatment schedule changes.
