About The Position

A nonexempt position responsible for nursing care under the supervision of physicians and clinical services manager. This role may involve basic clinical tasks such as vital signs, routine blood draws, immunization, injections, point of care testing, and EKG’s. The LPN provides care that adheres to Inspira policies and external regulations and requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduation from an approved practical nursing program
  • Minimum one year of LPN experience
  • State-licensed practical nurse
  • American Heart Healthcare Provider CP
  • Able to operate multi-line phone system
  • Able to update and modify EMR records on computer
  • Able to understand medical charting
  • Able to operate stethoscope, echocardiography (EKG) machine, ear-washing instruments, blood pressure cuff, speculums, and other nursing items
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
  • Familiarity with health care systems, regulations, policies, and functions
  • Understanding of documentation standards
  • Knowledge of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for medical treatment
  • Understanding of basic laboratory procedures including preparation and screening
  • Knowledge of infectious disease management and control and safety standards
  • Skill in reading and following written and oral medical orders
  • Skill in initiating appropriate emergency procedures
  • Skill in handling a number of tasks simultaneously
  • Skill in performing blood draws

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience preferred
  • Experience in a medical practice environment strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care under the supervision of physicians and clinical services manager
  • Perform basic clinical tasks including vital signs, routine blood draws, immunization, injections, point of care testing, and EKG’s
  • Provide care consistent with Inspira policies and external regulations and requirements
  • Operate multi-line phone system
  • Update and modify EMR records on computer
  • Understand medical charting
  • Operate stethoscope, echocardiography (EKG) machine, ear-washing instruments, blood pressure cuff, speculums, and other nursing items
  • Utilize walkers, wheelchairs, pulse oximetry, and oxygen tanks as needed
  • Read and follow written and oral medical orders
  • Initiate appropriate emergency procedures
  • Handle a number of tasks simultaneously
  • Perform blood draws
