About The Position

Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician. Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response. Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act. Refers to and consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns. Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Day to Day Activities: Confirming, Print orders, Sending list to Lynn for doses and entering templates for stress testing (once a week) Regulating INR's for the office (this includes home testers, lab testers) Calling patients to review results and manage their dosing, telling them when to retest (10-30 per day) Keeping track of who is overdue for testing and calling them to remind them to test Place Orders for their next INR and send to lab or dispatch to lab Calling test results that the physicians send you Applying holters and MCOT's as needed per physician orders Downloading Holters, entering diary for patient Doing nurse evals/ekg's/site checks/Walk-ins Cardiac clearances Refills Prior Auths for medications Tasks Assist RN's with calling normal results Covering MA's for lunches Covering for MA is they are out and were scheduled at the LWR location. Requirements

  • Completion of LPN/LVN nursing training from an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum of one (1) year college or Technical School
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • Current state registered license for LPN/LVN
  • Minimum of one (1) year working as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse required
  • General medical office procedures
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be ability to handle emergency or crisis situation
  • Must be able to see with corrective eye wear
  • Must be able to hear clearly with assistance

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
