About The Position
4 North Telemetry Unit The 4 North Telemetry Unit is specialized 35-bed unit dedicated to the continuous monitoring and management of patients requiring cardiac and medical telemetry care. The unit provides comprehensive services for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions, arrhythmias, post-procedural monitoring (such as cardiac catheterization, pacemaker/ICD insertion, Watchman devices, and ablations), heart failure, and other complex medical diagnoses requiring close observation. Each patient room is equipped with cardiac telemetry technology that allows for real-time monitoring of heart rhythm and vitals signs, with centralized surveillance to ensure rapid recognition of patient status. The interdisciplinary care team includes registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care technicians, physicians, advanced practice provides, case managers, and ancillary staff who work collaboratively to deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. The unit emphasizes early mobility, evidence-based protocols, patient and family education, and care coordination to support optimal recovery and safe discharge planning. With 35-beds, the unit balances advanced technology with a compassionate environment, ensuring patients receive individualized care while under continuous monitoring. Requirements
- High School/GED
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
- CPR – American Heart Association
- Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
- Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
- Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
Nice To Haves
- 1 year in healthcare
- PALS or ACLS
- State approved IV course certification.
- Knowledge of EPIC documentation and assessment process
Responsibilities
- Performs general nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and assists the clinical provider (registered nurse, advanced practice nurse and/or physician) during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Collects assessment data, prepares patient for examination and documents clinical information on patient record and reports any changes in patients condition to the registered nurse, advanced practice nurse or physician.
- Orders diagnostic tests as directed by the clinical provider (registered nurse, advanced practice nurse and/or physician) and gathers diagnostic tests and/or examines results prior to physician/clinical provider assessment.
- Schedules procedures and obtains authorizations, as necessary, under the direction/oversight of the registered nurse. Assists nursing and medical staff with basic medical tasks such as administering medications, blood and tissue collection and/or other laboratory specimens; prepare patients for testing.
