About The Position

Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Saint Vincent’s perioperative services unit is a newly renovated, 28 bay pre-operative and post-operative care unit that supports 13 operating rooms and 5 procedural areas. This is a fast-paced critical care unit that works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia. While Saint Vincent is not a trauma center, n urses provide specialized care for patients undergoing a variety of surgeries including robotics, orthopedics, cardiovascular, peripheral vascular, neurosurgical, and general surgeries. Nurses typically work staggered daylight hours with occasional evenings, plus on call requirements for nights/weekends. Analyzes the health status of the individuals and families comparing the data with the norm, when possible, to determine patient care needs.
Assesses patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
Accepts assignments in areas other than primary unit, and performs duties within individualized competency.
