About The Position

Impact lives with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio. The foundation of this role is based upon the philosophies of caring about others, giving back, and making a social impact. The position provides a safe and secure working environment while helping an at-risk population receive the treatment necessary for success on their road back to a healthy, productive life. This is an on-call position with a pay rate of $33 per hour, covering two shifts: 6am - 6pm and 6pm - 6am.

Requirements

Degree in nursing.
Current valid nursing license as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the state of Ohio.
Current CPR certification.
A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Must attain and maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
Must successfully complete all annual in-service requirements.

Nice To Haves

Three years experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess condition of and prescribe treatment for inmates reporting to sick call, under direction of the RN on duty and in accordance with approved standing orders.
Assist with provider line; prepare examining room and equipment.
Operate pill call, dispense medication and document as required by applicable policies and procedures, including pushing and/or wheeling a pill cart on facility campus.
Control medication, syringes and other medical supplies or equipment as required.
Perform emergency procedures as needed and call physician for treatment orders.
Keep equipment and work area clean; utilize appropriate sanitation methods.
Practice basic cost containment and utilization management for patient care and facility operations.
Maintain absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records; observe applicable HIPAA rules.
