LPN to ride the School Bus
About The Position
Licensed Practical Nurse Needed! Provide one-one-one care to a disabled child while riding the bus to school! Hours are 7AM - 9:15AM and 2:30PM - 5:00PM Monday - Friday! General Purpose: Provides nursing care to patients/students in accordance with physician’s orders, established standards of practice, and the policies and procedures of the contracting employer. Makes decisions that are based upon his/her education and experience in nursing. Responsible for monitoring special needs students on the bus during transportation to and from school; recognizing and responding to deviation from their baseline and administering emergency medications and procedures as prescribed by their physician.
Requirements
- Active Nursing License in the State of Kansas
- Active CPR certification
- Kind and compassionate person
Responsibilities
- Implements physician orders and reports the patient’s response to care for all patients assigned.
- Recognizes changing patient conditions and emergency situations and intervenes appropriately within the scope of practice and contracting employer’s policies and procedures.
- Displays a working knowledge of common disease and common diagnostic tests and procedures.
- Constantly monitor students’ well-being and behavior during the route.
