About The Position

Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders.  PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research. We are seeking compassionate, non-judgmental, and highly empathic individuals to join our specialized medical team as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Operation PAR’s Medication Assisted Patient Services (MAPS) program on our NEW Mobile Unit within the community. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Provides nursing services to patients in an outpatient, substance use disorder treatment setting. Completes nursing assessments, patient evaluations & screenings, dispenses & administers medications, and provides patients with healthcare education. Works with all members of the Treatment Team to coordinate patient care. Expected 3 months of initial training will be required at outpatient treatment center prior to assignment to mobile unit facility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED required
  • One year of experience working in the medical and/or behavioral health field preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification to be completed within six months of employment
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
  • Ability to write accurately and legibly
  • Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
  • Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach
  • Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
  • Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
  • Good hearing and vision
  • Ability to drive mobile unit
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a level II background check and drug screen.
