The LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) is responsible for monitoring patient health and administering basic care, utilizing the nursing process within their scope of practice to achieve care plan objectives and goals. This role requires demonstrating excellent customer service and a strong commitment to patient safety. The LPN will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients' physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met, and to resolve any complaints. Key duties include providing for patient comfort, implementing individualized nursing interventions to promote wellness, discussing care with patients, and reporting status changes and concerns to registered nurses and doctors. The LPN must communicate therapeutically and professionally with all involved parties, ensure the safe delivery of medication according to policies and orders, and maintain professional nursing practice standards, including thorough and accurate reporting and documentation of patient symptoms, responses, and progress. Other tasks may be assigned as needed.
