About The Position

Overview The Supervisor supervises multisite daily operations and is responsible for department budget to include revenues, expenses, and net gain. The supervisor supervises both clinical and non-clinical staff of their respective area of responsibility to include performance management and employee relations. Responsible for the quality of care, productivity, morale, scheduling, interviewing, and staff compliance with both departmental and RHS policies, procedures, and guidelines. The supervisor will investigate and resolve employee and/or client complaints. The supervisor will maintain and promote positive working relationships with physicians, physician offices, other Riverside facilities, and contracted services. Also responsible for management of departmental budget including expenditures for labor. The supervisor will remain up to date with changes and overall procedures for Medicare/Medicaid and Commercial insurance reimbursement practices. Responsible for the processing of admission referrals and provision of services for clients, handling and resolving customer complaints and concerns, scheduling, quality of care, productivity, compliance, and employee relations. Assures billing process is accomplished timely and accurately. Stays cognizant of Medicare/Medicaid and Commercial insurance changes and other reimbursement issues. Manages labor expenses for assigned area of responsibility. Supervises operations so that adequate and appropriate care and services are delivered. Responsible for quality of care and productivity of staff members. Assists staff in setting priorities and making plans to meet health care needs of clients and families based on their therapeutic goals as well as productivity goals for department. Responsible for enforcement of policies, procedures, and guidelines for the agency. Coaches, mentors, and develops staff competencies. Provides ongoing and constructive feedback, orientation, education, performance evaluation and if necessary, disciplinary actions for assigned employees (and contracted staff if applicable) under their supervision. Keeps staff up to date on current and changing billing and/or reimbursement information and practices. Holds monthly staff meetings in coordination with Private Duty Manager to keep staff informed. Responsible for remaining cognizant of accrediting body regulations. Assures that state certifications and accreditation are completed satisfactorily. Responsible for assuring daily safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals, and support safe practices as recommended by the National Quality Forum in alignment with DNV, state and other regulatory requirements. Stays current on national, state, and local trends and issues. Maintains and promotes positive working relationships with physicians, physicians' office staff, referral sources, other Riverside facilities, and contracted staff. Collaborates with RHS, RMG physicians and external physician practices to achieve clinical excellence and economic growth. Works with physicians and physician practices to facilitate home health processes for obtaining signed orders, receiving, and coordinating care.

Requirements

  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) within 30 Days(Required)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
  • Drives personal vehicle for RHS business 25% or more of the time to perform essential functions of the job
  • Valid Drivers License Required
  • Call Rotation
  • Weekend Shifts
  • Work/Float in more than one work location

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or other related field (Preferred)
  • Program Graduate, Nursing (Preferred)
  • 2 years Healthcare/Medical Supervisor (Preferred)
