About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of the patient care team. In collaboration with the RN, the LPN provides direct patient care and education consistent with the patient’s plan of care and desired outcomes. The LPN collects and communicates pertinent information to the interdisciplinary team and completes routine and delegated activities. Requirements

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices acquired through graduation from an accredited LPN program or documentation of nursing education and training through an accredited Registered Nurse program that meets state requirements to take LPN boards.
  • Experience working with patient care.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse license awarded by the State of Wisconsin.
  • Completion of a cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course provided by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross at time of hire or, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association within three months of hire.
  • Employee may not at any time have been or be excluded from participation in any federally funded program, including Medicare and Medicaid. This is a condition of employment. Employee must immediately notify his/her manager or the Health System’s Compliance Officer if he/she is threatened with exclusion or becomes excluded from any federally funded program.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed practical nurse (LPN) diploma.
  • Associate degree in nursing.
  • Experience as a licensed practical nurse within an area relative to the hiring department.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification provided by the American Heart Association at time of hire.
