As an Intermediate Swing Bed LPN, you provide consistent, relationship-based care in a calm, supportive setting. You care for patients who no longer need acute inpatient care or active rehab services but still benefit from daily nursing support. Why This is a Special Role This Intermediate Swing Bed LPN role offers structure, predictability, and strong team support. The acuity is lower than acute care, and nurses have access to experienced colleagues when guidance is needed. The Patients Intermediate (non-skilled) swing bed patients Stable medical needs Longer length of stay than acute care Familiar routines and consistent care plans Not receiving active rehab services Not acute and not long-term care residents The Details Beds: Up to 10 Shifts: 8a to 8p or 8p to 8a Weekends and holidays: Every other On-call: None

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN program
  • Current Montana LPN license or multistate compact license
  • BLS required

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS, PALS, or NRP preferred
  • At least 2 years of nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with long-term care, rehab, or swing bed patients is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to intermediate (non-skilled) swing bed patients
  • Support patients who have completed or no longer qualify for skilled therapy
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and their families
  • Lead and support CNAs and other care partners on the unit
  • Collaborate with acute care nursing staff when questions or needs arise
  • Maintain a calm, steady approach to patient care in a lower-acuity setting
