About The Position

The Western Dakota Clinic LPN provides clinical nursing services by delivering focused assessments, treatments, and patient education within an outpatient clinic environment. Working under the direction of providers and registered nurses, this role supports rooming, medication administration, care coordination, and follow-up activities to promote high-quality, patient-centered care. The Clinic LPN collaborates closely with the interdisciplinary care team to address patient needs, support chronic disease management, and ensure accurate documentation and effective communication across the continuum of care. Through teamwork, attention to detail, and consistent clinical practice, this position supports safe, efficient clinic operations and positive patient experiences at the Western Dakota Clinic.

Requirements

  • Current or temporary LPN license in ND or compact LPN licensure
  • CPR required within 90 days of hire
  • LPN program as evidenced by licensure
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices of nursing required
  • Computer experience required
  • The Western Dakota Clinic LPN requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods (typically 6–8 hours per shift) in a clinic environment; perform frequent bending, reaching, and assisting with patient mobility; and use fine motor skills for clinical tasks and electronic documentation.
  • Team members may need to lift, push, or pull up to 35 pounds and assist with heavier loads as part of a team when supporting patient transfers or moving equipment.
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities are essential for safe patient care and effective teamwork.
  • Work is performed in outpatient clinic and clinical support areas with potential exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, chemicals, and cleaning agents.
  • The role involves working in exam rooms, procedure areas, and hightraffic patient care spaces, following infection prevention and safety protocols.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 1 year Nursing experience preferred
  • IV competency certified preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform focused nursing assessments, administer medications and immunizations, and carry out provider ordered treatments in the clinic setting.
  • Room patients and obtain histories, vital signs, and other clinical data; document accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Provide patient and family education related to medications, disease processes, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Assist with coordination of care, including scheduling, referrals, and communication with external providers or services.
  • Support clinic workflows by helping manage phone calls, inbox messages, and triage tasks within scope of practice.
  • Participate in quality and safety initiatives, infection prevention practices, and ongoing clinical competency development.
