Position Purpose: The Lower School Spanish Teacher, starting in late August 2026, supports the Language Department Chair and the Head of Lower School, faculty, and students to ensure that we are living our mission and values on a daily basis through the following: Essential Functions: I. Student Instruction: Develops curricula to support students' development of communication and intercultural competency skills in Spanish through comprehensible input, scaffolded tasks, and storytelling. Embeds Wit and Wisdom topics into the Spanish curriculum. Commits to teaching 90% in the target language. Prepares creative and interactive hands-on activities. Evaluates student progress through multiple measures. Tailors instruction to meet the needs of students. Creates a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. Manages student behavior through effective classroom management techniques. Prepares a community assembly for Hispanic Heritage Month. Integrates technology in student learning experiences. II. Professional Conduct: Builds and maintains collaborative working relationships with colleagues and administration. Contributes positively to the culture of the division. Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth. III. Any Other Duties Assigned by Head of Lower School
