About The Position

Mt. Juliet Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and experienced art educator. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and enhance students' artistic and creative skills while nurturing their spiritual growth. In addition to teaching, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing various visual art-related activities and exhibitions. This includes managing art projects, organizing exhibitions, collaborating with other faculty members, and fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field.
  • Commitment to Christian values and the mission of First Baptist Church Mt. Juliet and Mt. Juliet Christian Academy.
  • Able to apply and hold an active ACSI Teaching License.
  • Proficient in various art methods, mediums, and techniques.
  • Experience in coordinating visual art events and exhibitions.
  • A love for Jesus and truth that is expressed in a creative and artistic way.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing engaging art lessons and projects.
  • Patience and understanding to accommodate students with different skill levels and learning styles.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust teaching methods and strategies based on individual student needs and school/educational guidelines.
  • Proficiency in using art-related software and technology for instructional purposes.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced or additional training and experience in art is preferred.
  • Membership in relevant art associations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Teach daily art classes, providing instruction and guidance in various art forms, mediums, and techniques with a Christian worldview.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and activities.
  • Organize visual art exhibitions and showcases, allowing students to display their work and gain recognition.
  • Assist students in developing their artistic skills and creativity through personalized instruction and constructive feedback.
  • Encourage students to explore different art methods, styles, and cultural influences.
  • Coordinate and manage art supplies, materials, and equipment, ensuring their proper use and maintenance.
  • Stay updated with current trends, techniques, and advancements in the field of art education.
  • Collaborate with the school administration and other faculty members to develop and implement art-related programs and initiatives.
  • Encourage and prepare students toward art competition entry and participation.
  • Pursue unique visual art experiences and outings for students in the community.
  • Participate in professional development activities and seek opportunities to enhance your own artistic and teaching skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and assessments.
  • Adhere to school policies and guidelines regarding student behavior, safety, and ethical standards.
