Control Solutions Group, Inc.Sandy, UT

About The Position

Ignite your career with Control Solutions Group (CSG), an EMCOR Group company! We are searching for a high-level Low Voltage Installation Manager to lead our installation department. This role is the backbone of our field operations, requiring a leader who can manage and grow a full team of Installation Leads and Specialists. We are looking for a 'working manager' who is equally comfortable in a high-level coordination meeting as they are on a ladder demonstrating a complex termination to a junior team member. You will be the primary architect of our manpower scheduling, ensuring the right people are on the right sites at the right time, while maintaining a heavy focus on the technical training and onboarding of new personnel.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of experience specifically within Building Automation Systems (BAS). Must have a mastery of Direct Digital Control (DDC) network architecture. Extensive experience in the mounting and wiring of diverse field control devices. Must maintain high-level proficiency in field skills (conduit, wiring, and panel work) and have the willingness to perform these tasks alongside the team when required.
  • Logistics Skills: Proven ability to manage complex labor schedules and manpower allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Mentorship: A passion for teaching and a track record of successfully training and developing junior technicians.
  • License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Travel: Project sites are largely concentrated within 1 ½ hour drive from Salt Lake City. Some sites require a willingness to travel throughout the state of Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Manpower Coordination and Deployment: Directly manage the installation schedule, ensuring manpower is strategically allocated to project sites exactly when needed to meet construction milestones.
  • Monitor project labor budgets and adjust staffing levels to maintain peak efficiency across the Wasatch Front and throughout Utah.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for field labor availability, resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring 100% site coverage.
  • Active Field Leadership and Execution: Be prepared to "strap on the tool belt" and perform physical installation tasks—including conduit bending, wiring, and terminations—to demonstrate best practices and high-quality standards to trainees.
  • Step in to perform direct installation work when necessary to ensure critical project milestones are met or to overcome complex technical hurdles on-site.
  • Use "on-the-tools" sessions as a primary training method, providing real-time feedback and correction to Installation Specialists in the field.
  • Project Coordination and Integration: Support Project Managers in high-level project coordination, ensuring installation requirements are integrated into the overall project plan.
  • Facilitate clear communication between the installation team, general contractors, and other trades regarding device placement, site readiness, and system functionality.
  • Participate in project hand-off meetings to reconcile contract documents and RFIs, ensuring the field team is fully prepared for the approved scope of work.
  • Quality Control and Technical Oversight: Establish and enforce rigorous standards for low voltage infrastructure, including conduit bending, wiring, and sensor installation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to audit workmanship, ensure code compliance, and provide "on-the-tools" mentorship to junior staff.
  • Serve as the final technical escalation point for complex installation or site-specific challenges.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: A leadership-level salary and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Transportation: Company vehicle provided for business travel.
  • Strategic Leadership: The authority to shape the department and influence the company's operational success.
  • Stable Growth: The opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology within the stable environment of an EMCOR Group company.
  • medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with health savings and flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability, a 401(k) Savings Plan, College Coach and employee assistance program.
