Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid and current driver's license
  • 2-4 Years verifiable Low Voltage experience
  • An understanding of enterprise network environments.
  • Experience with G-Suite including Gmail, Calendar, and Drive.
  • Intermediate skills supporting MS Office suite, especially Outlook and Office 365.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 70 pounds up to 20 feet.
  • Requires excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred System Administration experience
  • Preferred Low Voltage Licensing
  • Experience working with Meraki Security Appliances.

Responsibilities

  • Network equipment installation (Router, Switch, Hub, Dial Backup Modem, DSL Modem, Network Management Device, Wireless Access Points, etc.)
  • Provide connection to network equipment via laptop with HyperTerminal/ Putty installed, USB to Serial adaptor, and various console cables. Once the session is created you will be instructed by NOC tech. (You do not need to know how to configure the equipment, just how to connect to It.)
  • Install Access control, door strikes, badge access, time clocks etc.
  • Telephone system knowledge with advanced installation and programming skills in one or more key hybrid systems. (Zoom telephones and meeting rooms)
  • Phone system experience, you may be tasked to provide onsite phone system support -- to include configuration changes and initial set up.
  • Installing various types of pathway support structures (J-hooks, cable tray, and support rings)
  • Capable of identifying, pulling, labeling, terminating, extending and testing Cat5e, Cat6, Coax, and Fiber Optic cable through interior and exterior wall, wire tray, conduit, and drop ceiling.
  • Troubleshoot voice and data lines. Must have a working knowledge of commercial grade wiring topologies.
  • Demonstrate ability to safely use various types of man lifts and hand/power tools as well as being able to work from ladders, scaffolds, or at heights above 25 feet.
  • Perform site survey per job scope.
  • Able to read schematics and identify cable pathways.
  • Coordinate with the project manager and keep an open line of communication on progress of the project via daily logs, e-mails, phone calls, etc.
  • Work independently without direct supervision.
  • When not on the road, take incoming calls, emails, and walk-ups related to all IT issues and requests from both PC and Mac users.
  • Monitor ticketing system and ensure tickets are resolved on time to meet Carvana defined SLA.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors, IT providers and other business units for any specific requirements or on-site installation or upgrade.
  • Maintain inventory for all infrastructure related hardware in the Carvana inventory System.
  • Document solutions for new problems.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and after hours work when needed.
  • Up to 60% travel required.
