About The Position

The Security Low Voltage Technician will be responsible for the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced security systems, including alarms, surveillance cameras, and related components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of security system components, including alarm systems
  • Familiarity with industry-leading brands
  • Proficiency in network configuration and IP-based systems.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in security system installation and maintenance.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments, including heights and confined spaces.
  • Availability for on-call or emergency service requests as needed.
  • Willing to undergo pre-employment background and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with residential, commercial, or industrial clients is a plus.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
  • Electronic Security Association (ESA) certifications.
  • Network+ or equivalent networking certification.
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Axis Certified Professional, Honeywell Certified Installer).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • System Installation and Setup
  • Install and configure security systems, including alarms, access control, video surveillance, and intercom systems.
  • Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, company standards, and client requirements.
  • Run and terminate cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, coaxial, etc.) as needed for system connectivity.
  • System Programming and Configuration
  • Program and customize security systems to meet client-specific needs.
  • Integrate systems with smart home platforms or business networks as required.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair technical issues with security systems promptly.
  • Perform routine system inspections, tests, and maintenance to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Customer Service
  • Provide detailed system demonstrations and user training to clients.
  • Address client concerns and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Offer recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure all installations comply with local and national electrical and safety codes.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service calls.
  • Complete required documentation, including service reports and inventory updates.
