About The Position

TEKsystems Inc. is seeking a reliable and motivated Telecommunications Technician to support projects in the Greater Nashville area. This is a 6‑month contract position with the potential for extension or permanent placement. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an interest in building a career in telecommunications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications are a plus)
• Basic knowledge of telecommunications systems and structured cabling (Cat6)
• Familiarity with routers, switches, and network protocols
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair telecommunications systems and equipment
• Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot network and connectivity issues
• Configure and program telecommunications devices and systems
• Support VoIP, PBX systems, routers, switches, and structured cabling
• Collaborate with team members to ensure reliable network performance
• Provide technical support to end users by diagnosing and resolving issues
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and service activities
• Follow all safety guidelines and industry standards
• Stay current with emerging telecommunications technologies and best practices
