Eliot’s Homeless Services Division is seeking a dedicated Assistant Program Director to join our Low Threshold Housing Team which provides an array of onsite supportive services, including recovery coaching, MAT/Psychiatry, wrap-around case management & clinical coordination, medical consultation and direct interventions, and access to trauma-focused treatment modalities. The ideal candidate is a compassionate and skilled leader with strong experience in mental health, substance use, and homelessness services, capable of overseeing daily operations while providing real-time guidance and supervision to a multidisciplinary team. They bring a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach, excel at building collaborative relationships with clients and staff, and are adept at coordinating care, managing program logistics, and supporting residents in achieving housing stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Counseling and three years relevant experience in the mental health substance use field
  • Will consider candidates with substantial lived or professional experience without a degree on a case by case basis
  • Demonstrated knowledge of substance use disorders, harm reduction, homelessness, dual diagnosis and Evidence Based Practices.
  • Must possess exemplary leadership skills and ability to provide effective real time guidance and support to employees.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in the Healing Arts or BA in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee general operations and support service provision at respective Low Threshold Site.
  • Provide real time guidance and support to milieu, security, and clinical staff.
  • Provide weekly individual supervision to all milieu staff, as well as guidance and training to security personnel as needed/assigned.
  • Promote hope, empowerment and recovery in all aspects of care. Model professional behavior for staff and promote use of trauma-informed and empowering language and interventions.
  • Oversee staff and security scheduling to ensure appropriate coverage for the program.
  • Serve as a part of an afterhours on call rotation for the Low Threshold sites as assigned.
  • Facilitate weekly house meetings with residents to obtain feedback related to programming, disseminate important information, and to also plan recreational/educational/support service events for the site.
  • Ensure timely collection and submission of all data necessary for BSAS, DPH and Agency reporting requirements
  • Provide mediation and guidance for resident disputes as applicable and escalate concerns to the Director of Low Threshold Residential Services as needed.
