About The Position

The Brand Manager for the Low‑Proof Spirits Portfolio is responsible for assisting with the strategy, development, and performance of Superior Beverage Group’s low‑proof alcohol and emerging spirits categories. This role ensures brand integrity, drives volume and profit objectives, and executes marketing and commercial plans that strengthen the portfolio's competitive position. The Brand Manager partners closely with suppliers, Sales, Procurement, and Operations to deliver growth while adapting quickly to evolving consumer and market trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent
  • Five (5)+ years of experience in brand management, beverage alcohol, CPG, or a related commercial marketing role, with proven success driving brand or portfolio growth.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, financial indicators, and consumer insights to guide decision‑making.
  • Proven project and budget management experience, including planning, executing, and evaluating marketing initiatives within defined financial parameters.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross‑functional teams, sales personnel, and external partners.
  • Deep understanding of three‑tier alcohol distribution, supplier expectations, and market dynamics within the beverage industry.
  • Experience supporting field or trade marketing activities, including events, ride‑alongs, retail activations, and promotional programming.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong supplier and internal relationships, including regular collaboration and occasional travel.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements within the alcohol industry, or willingness to quickly learn evolving standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common analytics/reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Nielsen/IRI data, etc., if applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with long‑term strategic planning for the Low‑Proof Spirits portfolio, identifying growth opportunities, new markets, and innovation potential.
  • Evaluate and implement programs that deliver strategic and financial value while reinforcing brand positioning within the category.
  • Monitor competitive dynamics and consumer trends to inform brand strategy, pricing, and portfolio recommendations.
  • Guide the Sales team on executing portfolio growth strategies, including programming, activation priorities, and brand standards.
  • Spend time in-market with Sales to evaluate execution quality, identify retail opportunities, and support field-level coaching.
  • Deliver internal presentations and updates on brand performance, new items, and marketing plans to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with spirits suppliers, coordinating regular communication, planning cycles, and collaborative initiatives to ensure brand alignment and executional excellence.
  • Lead supplier engagement activities by organizing and attending supplier meetings, trade calls, and market visits to evaluate program effectiveness, strengthen relationships, and identify new growth opportunities.
  • Manage all brand‑level marketing execution, including POS materials, promotional assets, and media planning, while working with suppliers to deliver marketing programs on time and within budget.
  • Oversee financial stewardship of the portfolio by tracking and reconciling supplier funding, co‑op budgets, credit issues, and performance reporting to maintain accurate and timely financial accountability.
  • Develop and execute consumer, trade, and field‑marketing initiatives for the low‑proof spirits segment, ensuring consistent brand messaging, positioning, and activation across all channels.
  • Coordinate and manage local marketing execution, including events, ride‑alongs, promotional campaigns, and the marketing calendar, ensuring timely delivery of materials and sales team support.
  • Drive portfolio performance through effective use of incentives, brand programs, and marketing concepts, while tracking, analyzing, and reporting results to inform strategic adjustments.
  • Collaborate closely with sales leadership to align marketing activities with sales objectives and performance metrics, continually evaluating the ROI of initiatives and optimizing tactics for maximum impact.
  • Monitor sales performance, financial indicators, and tactical brand/supplier expenses to ensure alignment with strategic goals and accurate budget adherence.
  • Oversee compliance with company policies and all local, state, and federal liquor regulations, maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of industry standards and regulatory changes.
  • Schedule training sessions for sales teams as needed on brand knowledge, quality assurance, and compliant execution of promotional activities.
  • Evaluate and report on operational performance, providing insights that connect sales outcomes, program execution, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure consistent documentation and adherence to operational processes, including accurate reporting, audit readiness, and alignment with internal compliance expectations.
  • Maintain open communication with company leadership and staff to support a collaborative work environment.
  • Take initiative to understand roles beyond your own to support succession planning and organizational agility.
