The Loss Prevention Store Detective at Marshalls, a TJX Companies brand, is responsible for executing daily tasks related to store loss prevention and safety programs. This role involves maintaining positive relationships with Store Management, conducting apprehensions in line with established policies, and communicating with store Associates regarding damage and shrink initiatives. Key responsibilities include identifying and resolving internal and external theft, adhering to shoplifter guidelines, and providing excellent customer service. The detective is expected to promote a culture of honesty and integrity, maintain confidentiality, and actively observe, apprehend, or deter acts of dishonesty from external sources. The position also entails participating in investigations and surveillance, ensuring apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity, and accurately completing and distributing paperwork. Furthermore, the role requires maintaining appropriate evidence, understanding law enforcement procedures, and professionally engaging in legal activities such as police calls. The Loss Prevention Store Detective coordinates shrink-related activities with Store Management, ensures compliance with all labor laws, policies, and procedures, supports store shrink reduction goals, encourages Associate use of shrink reduction resources, and promotes safety awareness to maintain a safe environment.
