About The Position
Santa Fe South Schools is seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide consistent, high-quality instruction and classroom leadership during the extended absence of a regular teacher. In this critical role, you will carry out lesson plans, maintain a positive and engaging learning environment, and ensure continuity in students' academic experience. Requirements
- Minimum HS Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree or teaching certificate preferred)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with students and collaborate with staff

Responsibilities
- Implement and deliver daily instructional plans in alignment with district curriculum and teacher guidance
- Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and maintain classroom routines and expectations
- Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning
- Collaborate with grade-level or subject-area teams, administrators, and families as needed
- Maintain accurate attendance and records in accordance with district policy
- Manage classroom transitions, student behavior, and instructional pacing
- Participate in school-based duties such as planning time, parent communication (if needed), and team meetings
- Uphold all school policies, FERPA guidelines, and emergency procedures (e.g., fire drills, lockdowns)
- Provide end-of-day notes and updates for the returning teacher, including any concerns or highlights
- Serve consistently for the full term of the long-term assignment, supporting classroom continuity
- Be proactive in learning school norms, resources, and support systems
- Remain flexible and responsive to student needs and school expectations
