About The Position
The Long Term Substitute Instructor works under the supervision of the Academic Dean and provides support and encourages student learning in the event that a classroom instructor is unable to lead class for an extended and continuous period of time.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience working with students preferred.
Responsibilities
- Upholds CEC’s beliefs found on the CEC website.
- Follows lesson plans provided by the classroom instructor to support a consistent and continuing learning experience for students.
- Effectively manages the classroom to encourage student participation, to minimize distractions, and to maintain a positive learning environment.
- Logs daily student attendance into IC for each class as required in CEC policies.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student and small group learning by ensuring student conduct conforms with CEC’s Student and Family Handbook and CEC policies.
- Participates in professional development as requested by the Academic Dean.
- Other duties as assigned.
