About The Position

Moravian Academy's Swain Campus is seeking a Long-Term Middle School Science Substitute to join our vibrant learning community for 4-6 weeks beginning February 2026 . If you love sparking curiosity, guiding hands-on exploration, and connecting with middle school learners during one of their most formative stages, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact. In this role, you will teach grades 5-8 science , delivering thoughtfully planned lessons while maintaining continuity of learning during a faculty leave. You'll collaborate closely with our permanent science teachers, engage students through interactive, lab-based instruction , and foster a classroom environment where curiosity, respect, and discovery thrive. Beyond the science classroom, you'll also serve as an elective instructor and middle school advisor , becoming a valued part of daily campus life. We're looking for an educator who brings both strong content knowledge and a passion for working with adolescents . The ideal candidate values research-based instructional practices, embraces inclusive teaching, and understands how to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth. Experience with hands-on science, Responsive Classroom techniques, and middle school curriculum frameworks is highly desirable.
