The Galvin Middle School is seeking an exceptional and dynamic candidate to serve as a Special Educator - Long Term Sub beginning on March 17th, 2026 through the remainder of the school year (June 22nd) . The special education long term sub will join a vibrant and supportive team that places a high priority on collaboration, creativity, flexibility, and commitment to the goals of the District and to our students, families and staff. The Galvin Middle School is an inclusive community for all students and staff and serve over 750 students in grades 6-8. GMS is cultivating a school culture and climate that promotes academic growth and social emotional learning for every student, and ensures high quality teaching and learning through the purposeful design of rigorous and equitable student experiences. JOB SUMMARY Special Education teachers provide a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can access and make progress towards Massachusetts standards based curriculum and develop social and emotional skills in order to participate in society, while providing a safe and supportive educational environment for all students. The Special Education teacher will also work collaboratively with all school staff in order to implement student Individualized Education Plans.
