About The Position

Long Term Substitute- English Language Arts (Grades 11 & 12) WORK SITE: Lordstown High School DURATION: November 2025- March 2026

Requirements

• Valid state teaching license or substitute teaching license (required).
• Strong background in English Language Arts, literature, and writing instruction.
• Effective communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with high school students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned to district curriculum and state standards.
• Teach core ELA content including literature analysis, college-level writing, research skills, and vocabulary development.
• Facilitate engaging lessons for whole-group, small-group, and individual learners.
• Maintain accurate attendance, assignments, and grading records.
• Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work.
• Communicate professionally with students, families, and colleagues.
• Support a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with ELA department staff as needed.
